James Mayfield

Jim Mayfield began his current assignment with the Irvine Export Assistance Center in August 2012. He is responsible for advising and assisting Orange County-area companies with their export plans with a focus on education, training and environmental technology sectors.

Prior to joining the Irvine office, Jim served as the Principal Commercial Officer with the U.S. Commercial Service in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2009 to 2012, and as Deputy Senior Commercial Officer in Hong Kong from 2006 to 2009. He has also served with the U.S. Commercial Service in San Francisco and Shanghai. During these assignments, Jim's trade promotion portfolios have included automotive, manufacturing, environmental technologies, energy, construction/infrastructure and consumer products sectors.

Jim graduated from The George Washington University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. Jim speaks Mandarin Chinese.
