William Marshak

William Marshak serves as Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of the United States of America in Hanoi, Vietnam. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Marshak was Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu, China, and before that, Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mr. Marshak has also served at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai, the American Institute in Taiwan and in Washington State where he opened the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Tacoma. Before joining the U.S.

Department of Commerce, Mr. Marshak pursued a career in international agriculture, serving as general manager of the Beijing Poultry Breeding Company (Charoen Pokphand/Avian Farms) and as Director of Asian Marketing for Betco, Inc., a U.S. supplier of agricultural buildings and equipment. Mr. Marshak was raised in Pennsylvania and is a long-term resident of Washington State. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Chinese from the University of Washington in Seattle, and an MBA from the University of Washington.
