Rick de Lambert serves as Counselor for Commercial Affairs with the Commercial Service in Brazil, a unit of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. The Commercial Service in Brazil has locations in Sao Pãulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Recife and Belo Horizonte. Based out of the U.S. Consulate São Paulo, Mr. de Lambert helps lead a Brazil-wide team whose mission is to promote U.S. exports and secure U.S. business in South America’s largest economy.
Before coming to Brazil, from 2006-2010, Mr. de Lambert served as Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Consulate Milan, Italy. His previous diplomatic assignments were Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Embassy Santiago, Chile (2003-2005) and Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Embassy Tokyo (1999-2002).
Mr. de Lambert also managed the Commercial Service’s San Jose (California) Export Assistance Center and worked as a Trade Specialist at the Department of Commerce headquarters in Washington, D.C. Before joining the Department, Mr. de Lambert worked in the private sector and as a staffer for a U.S. Congressman.
Mr. de Lambert received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Claremont McKenna College in California and a Master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C.
