Robyn Kessler

Robyn Kessler, Principal Commercial Officer for North India at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, is a career diplomat with the Commercial Service of the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. In New Delhi, Ms. Kessler manages a team of 20 American officers and Indian specialists who serve as a resource for U.S. companies pursuing commercial interests in Northern India.

From 2011-2014, Ms. Kessler served as Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Russia. She concurrently had responsibility for the Commercial Service Kazakhstan office as Acting Senior Commercial Officer, managing five local specialists in Almaty.

Ms. Kessler’s previous assignments include Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan as well as Commercial Attaché in Mexico City and at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels. She also completed a domestic tour in Northern Virginia counseling U.S. companies on global export opportunities. Ms. Kessler joined the Foreign Service in 2004.

Ms. Kessler has sixteen years private sector experience in strategic consulting and supply chain management. From 1998 to 2002, she was a consultant with Manugistics, a supply chain software firm in Washington, DC and Brussels and spent eight years with the Sara Lee Corporation’s textile and apparel division. She also has four years retail management experience with Macy’s Department Stores. Her production and operations management positions with Sara Lee included international assignments in Manila, Paris and the Dominican Republic.

Ms. Kessler holds a BA from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She is married to Jonathan Kessler, a career State Department Foreign Service Officer.
