Stephen Jacques began his post as Senior Commercial Officer, U.S. Embassy, Kuala Lumpur in August 2011. He previously served as the Senior Commercial Officer in Tripoli, Libya in 2010 to 2011. He completed a three-year assignment as Deputy Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Consulate General Shanghai, China from 2007 to 2010. He previously served as Commercial Officer, U.S. Embassy Tokyo, Japan from 2001 to 2006. His first post was at the Export Assistance Center in Houston, Texas from 1998 to 2000. Before joining the U.S. Commercial Service, he was a Senior International Trade Analyst in the Office of Import Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 1988 to 1998. Mr. Jacques received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and French from the University of Arizona. He earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
