Cheryl Dukelow became the Senior Commercial Officer for the U.S. Commercial Service at the Embassy of the United States in Pakistan in October 2014. She previously served as Commercial Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. Prior to her tenure in Kiev, she was Deputy Senior Commercial Officer in Baghdad, Iraq, from October 2007 to October 2009. In Iraq she contributed to the 150% increase in export successes in 2008, and to an additional 80% increase in 2009. Prior to Iraq, she served as a Commercial Officer in Moscow, Russia from 2002 to 2007, working to resolve market access barriers and on Intellectual Property Rights issues.
Her portfolio included, Information Technology, Agriculture, Safety and Security, and Consumer Goods industry sectors. In addition, she served temporary assignments as the Principal Commercial Officer at U.S. Consulates in Saint Petersburg and Vladivostok. She also traveled extensively throughout the country in support of the Bureau of Industry and Security.
Ms. Dukelow joined the ranks of the Commercial Service in 1987. She has also served in the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and in the U.S. Embassies in New Delhi, India; Tokyo, Japan; and Abidjan, Cote d`Ivoire. Prior to joining the Commercial Service she spent ten years working in the IT industry in California. Cheryl attended the University of Montana, School of Mineral Science and Technology in Butte, Montana. She is married to Gordon H. Dukelow and has two children.
